Dr. Mitchel Kuhn, originally from Ocala, Florida, is a third generation Chiropractor. After obtaining his Bachelor’s degree from Florida Gulf Coast University, Dr. Kuhn went on to continue his education at Palmer College of Chiropractic where he received his Doctorate in Chiropractic.
Dr. Kuhn has completed Post-Doctoral studies in the specialized field of Sports Medicine and is certified by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians as a Board Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP®). Dr. Kuhn treats a wide variety of recreational and professional athletes including runners, cyclists, triathletes, crossfitters, bodybuilders and race car drivers; and he is the one of the very few Chiropractors in the entire Lake Norman/North Charlotte area to hold this elite credential as a Board Certified Sports Chiropractor.
Dr. Kuhn’s chiropractic interests lie in working with all patients, but mostly with athletes of all ages and skill levels. Throughout his ongoing education Dr. Kuhn has become experienced in treating both acute and chronic disc issues by using non-invasive adjustments and exercises. Although his main expertise lies in treating spinal conditions, Dr. Kuhn is well trained and experienced in treating a multitude of extremity conditions and sports injuries. He is an extremely well rounded clinician who treats the body as a whole. Overall health, fitness, and nutrition are important parts of Dr. Kuhn’s life and reflected in the way that he practices. He strives to be a positive example to patients and to the community. Dr. Kuhn has a great understanding of many different techniques; however, he does not restrict himself to any one in particular. Dr. Kuhn’s approach gets to the cause of the problem instead of solely addressing the symptoms. He is personable, enjoys working with a multitude of personalities, and has a great bedside manner.
When he is not treating patients, Dr. Kuhn enjoys working out, cooking, and spending time with his wife, Danielle and their two children. The whole family enjoys being outdoors whenever possible - whether that's hiking, exercising, strolling around Birkdale or just finding a nice park to enjoy a picnic.

How do Chiropractors achieve Sports Certification?
A CCSP has completed a minimum of 100 hours of Post Doctoral education in specialized sports medicine topics and must pass an additional Board examination.
How does a CCSP maintain their credentials?
The Sports Chiropractor remains abreast of the latest research and treatment innovations through continued education and field experience. The American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians (ACBSP) offers an annual seminar to update the doctors of the latest research and techniques.
How do I know the certification is meaningful?
The CCSP program is taught by accredited chiropractic colleges and the examinations are administered by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians. The program is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), a national multi-industry organization that ensures certification programs adhere to modern standards of practice for the certification industry, including objective assessment of professional knowledge and competence.
